A DAY AT BLOOM & GROW

A day at Bloom & Grow Outdoor Early Learning is designed to feel calm, predictable, and engaging. Children move through the day within a familiar rhythm that supports emotional regulation, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

While no two days are exactly the same, the overall flow of the day remains consistent. This predictability allows children to feel secure while remaining open to curiosity, exploration, and learning.

ARRIVAL AND MORNING FLOW

Children are welcomed into the day with care and intention. Mornings begin with outdoor play and connection, allowing children time to settle into the environment, reconnect with peers, and transition into the day at their own pace.

This gradual start supports emotional regulation, social engagement, and readiness for group experiences.

MORNING GATHERING AND

COMMUNITY RHYTHM

Each morning includes a consistent group gathering that serves as the anchor of the day. This shared time helps children orient themselves, connect as a community, and develop a clear understanding of expectations and routine.

Through stories, conversation, movement, and song, children practice social emotional skills, build group awareness, and prepare for the experiences ahead. Children are supported in understanding their role within the community and gain clarity about the flow of the morning.

This predictable rhythm provides emotional safety, strengthens relationships, and supports deeper engagement throughout the day.

OUTDOOR PLAY AND EXPLORATION

Much of the day is spent outdoors in our thoughtfully designed learning environment. Our third of an acre backyard offers a variety of spaces that invite movement, imagination, collaboration, and discovery.

Children engage in extended play, exploration of natural materials, and active movement. Open ended materials and natural elements allow children to follow their interests, problem solve, and engage meaningfully with peers.

The outdoor environment supports physical development, emotional regulation, and sustained engagement.

LEARNING THROUGH DAILY EXPERIENCE

Learning at Bloom & Grow is responsive to what children notice, wonder about, and experience in their environment. Seasonal changes, weather, and the living world naturally shape what we explore together.

Children observe changes in nature, care for plants, notice living creatures, and engage in conversations that deepen understanding and curiosity. Through these experiences, children develop empathy, responsibility, and respect for the world around them.

Learning unfolds organically through observation, exploration, and guided reflection.

OPEN ENDED ACTIVITIES AND

INTENTIONAL TEACHING

Each day includes a planned, open ended activity designed to invite exploration, creativity, and problem solving. These experiences are process focused rather than product driven and allow children to engage with materials in meaningful, hands on ways.

Activities are intentionally open ended, giving children the freedom to explore materials, test ideas, make choices, and express themselves without a predetermined outcome. The focus is not on producing a finished product, but on the thinking, experimentation, and learning that happens along the way. Children also learn how to use materials thoughtfully, care for shared resources, and take responsibility for their work and space.

During these experiences, educators are actively engaged alongside children. Teachers observe closely, ask thoughtful questions, introduce language, support problem solving, and scaffold learning in ways that deepen understanding and extend thinking. Social emotional skills are supported in real time through modeling, guidance, and descriptive feedback that reinforces cooperation, persistence, and self regulation.

Learning is not left to chance. Educators are present, responsive, and intentional throughout the day, supporting children as they explore, create, and learn through play.

MEALS, SNACKS, AND COMMUNITY CARE

Meals and snacks are shared experiences that support learning, independence, and relationships. Children gather together to enjoy food, conversation, and connection in a calm and supportive setting.

Children participate in caring for shared spaces and materials, practicing responsibility and cooperation as part of daily routines. Mealtimes support social skills, independence, and a positive relationship with food.

RESPONSIBILITY AND INDEPENDENCE

Children at Bloom & Grow are active participants in the daily life of the program. Responsibility and independence are practiced through real experiences within the community.

Children are supported in caring for themselves, contributing to shared routines, navigating group expectations, and communicating their needs. These skills develop through consistency, repetition, and guidance within a predictable environment.

Over time, children gain confidence, self awareness, and the ability to participate thoughtfully within a group.

INDOOR SPACE AND WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS

While our program is primarily outdoors, we have a dedicated indoor classroom space that is used as needed due to weather or specific activities. A covered outdoor deck provides additional flexible space for meals, art, and group experiences.

The environment is intentionally arranged to support smooth transitions and a sense of continuity throughout the day.

REST, REFLECTION, AND AFTERNOON FLOW

As the day progresses, children move into quieter experiences that support rest, reflection, and regulation. Opportunities for independent play, small group activities, and rest are woven naturally into the afternoon.

Children are supported in listening to their bodies, slowing down, and transitioning toward the end of the day with care.

PREPARING FOR WHAT COMES NEXT

Each day at Bloom & Grow supports children in developing the skills needed for future learning environments. Through consistent routines, shared responsibility, social interaction, and guided independence, children gain confidence and readiness for transitional kindergarten and kindergarten.

Children leave Bloom & Grow familiar with group expectations, comfortable communicating with adults, and capable of navigating daily routines with confidence.

EXPERIENCE BLOOM & GROW IN PERSON
